The Centre for Governance Research (CGR) Pakistan has declared Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Athar Minallah as the Man of the Year 2021 for his principled and bold stance on the issue of the missing persons.

President Arif Alvi administered oath to Gulzar Ahmed. Gulzar Ahmed has taken oath of his office on December 21 a day after  ex CJP Justice Khosa retirement on December 20, 2019. Mushtaq Ahmad Mehar has been appointed new IG of Sindh.

The federal cabinet has accorded approval to appointing Mushtaq Ahmed Mehar – one of the three names put forward by the Sindh government – as the new provincial inspector general of police. The other two names were Ghulam Qadir Thebo and Dr Kamran Fazal.

According to the sources, through a circular, the federal cabinet notified the appointment of Railways IG Mehar – a Grade 22 officer – as the new Sindh IG.
Mehar is on the eleventh position on the Grade 22’s seniority list and is set to retire on March 3, 2025.

Muhammad Tahir Rai has been appointed new IG of Balochistan Police on 19th january 2021.

Mohammad Saeed Wazir has been posted as Inspector General of Police of Gilgit-Baltistan on 25th March 2021.

Mohammad Saeed Wazir is currently the commandant of Balochistan Constabulary.

He hails from Wana town in South Waziristan and has served in Punjab, KP and Balochistan Police as well as the National Highways and Motorway Police.

Moazzam Jah Ansari has been appointed new IG of KPK on June 9, 2021.

Moazzam Jah Ansari will take over from Abbasi as the inspector general of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. Ansari was previously serving as the commandant of the Frontier Constabulary.

Sohail Habib Tajik is said to be the first DIG ranked police officer posted against the BS-22 post of the AJK IGP, superseding 70 senior police officers, mostly serving in Punjab and in the federal government’s institutions.

The federal government has approved the appointment of Rao Sardar Ali Khan as the new chief of Punjab Police in a notification issued by the Establishment Division on Tuesday September 07, 2021. Sardar Ali Khan, who hails from Lodhran, is considered among the “best” professional and experienced officers of the Pakistan Police Service. He joined the police service in 1990 as the assistant superintendent of police (ASP).

National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) Inspector General (IG) Dr Syed Kaleem Imam handed over command to new NHMP Inspector General Inam Ghani in change of command ceremony he ld at NHMP HQs Islamabad. He is the 19th IG of NHMP.

The federal government appointed Muhammad Ahsan Younas on 6th December 2021 as the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad police.

Inam Ghani is the 25th IG of Pakistan Railways Police. He belongs to the 17th Common. On arrival at Central Police Office Railways Lahore, the new chief of Pakistan Railways Police was received by Pakistan Railways Police DIG North Dr Muhammad Waqar Abbasi, DIG South Shehzad Akbar and AIG Admin Malik Muhammad Atique.
