Justice Gulzar Ahmed has been appointed new Chief Justice of Pakistan with effect from December 21, 2019. He took oath as the 27th Chief Justice of Pakistan at a ceremony at Aiwan-i-Sadr Justice. President Arif Alvi administered oath to Gulzar Ahmed. Gulzar Ahmed has taken oath of his office on December 21 a day after  ex CJP Justice Khosa retirement on December 20, 2019. Justice Ahmed, who replaces Justice Asif Saeed Khosa as the chief justice, will serve till February 21, 2022, as the 27th chief justice.
